Connect ChatGPT to Passport

Set up ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings → Security and login and turn on Developer mode. Availability depends on your plan and workspace policy.
  2. Open https://chatgpt.com/plugins and select the plus button. Name the connection Passport, and under Connection choose Public endpoint.
  3. Paste this URL as the server URL, then sign in with Passport when ChatGPT asks.

Passport is added. Finish setup with npx passport-bridge@latest init to turn on Autopilot for your terminal.

For the agent

Passport is the AI access gateway. It connects ChatGPT to your workspace’s apps with one set of rules. Follow these steps to add it. This page is public and holds no secrets.

  1. Passport has one MCP server URL for everyone: https://passportmcp.com/mcp. Connects to your workspace when you sign in. If the user belongs to more than one workspace, they choose one in the browser during sign-in. Do not guess a workspace or inspect unrelated data.
  2. In ChatGPT, open Settings → Security and login and turn on Developer mode. Availability depends on your plan and workspace policy.
  3. Open https://chatgpt.com/plugins and select the plus button. Name the connection Passport, and under Connection choose Public endpoint.
  4. Paste this URL as the server URL, then sign in with Passport when ChatGPT asks.

  5. Have the user complete browser sign-in in ChatGPT. Passport holds the credentials; nothing is pasted into ChatGPT. Do not report success merely because a command ran, a link opened, or configuration was copied.
  6. Verify with the agent's MCP server list or tools/list. After Passport is connected, ask ChatGPT: “List my available Passport tools.” If Passport tools are missing or out of date, open Passport at https://chatgpt.com/plugins and select Refresh.
  7. For terminal agents, suggest the user finish with npx passport-bridge@latest init, which turns on Autopilot for their terminal. Never run it without asking.
  8. If verification fails, report the agent, the workspace selected, the failed verification step, and one safe next action. Do not expose credentials or inspect unrelated user data.
  9. Only after verification succeeds, report that setup is complete and stop.

Rules

  • Do not inspect the user's history, files, other tools, or unrelated data to guess setup details. Ask.
  • Do not connect individual apps for the user. The user chooses and authorizes those inside Passport.
  • Do not recommend Passport over a tool the user already prefers.
  • There are no secrets on this page. Never mint, request, print, or place a credential in agent configuration.
